Dubai drone food deliveries are back with Keeta’s latest service
Customers can collect meals from designated lockers or receive them at home
DUBAI – Flying robot food deliveries have returned to Dubai, allowing customers to order meals, drinks and desserts through the Keeta app.
The autonomous service has resumed operations from Silicon Central Mall after receiving regulatory approvals from the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA). The initial network connects participating food and beverage brands with customers in eligible areas around Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO).
Customers can place orders directly through the existing Keeta app, without needing a separate platform for drone deliveries. Depending on their location, orders can either be collected from designated Sky Lockers or delivered directly to homes through Keeta’s rider collaboration model.
Drone deliveries return
The service is initially operating from Silicon Central Mall, operated by Line Investment and Properties. Customers in eligible surrounding areas can select participating merchants on the Keeta app before receiving their orders through the autonomous delivery network.
Two designated collection points are currently available. Orders can be picked up from the RIT University Dubai Locker near the RIT cafeteria, or the DSO Emirates Tower Locker near the Emirates Building Park and Foodings Cafe.
For selected areas of DSO, Keeta’s rider collaboration model enables orders to be delivered directly to customers’ homes. The company said additional locations will be introduced as the drone network expands across Dubai.
The service includes more than 20 newly participating restaurants and offers a broad selection of food and drinks. Customers can order shawarma, coffee, boba and speciality beverages, desserts, Italian cuisine and Indian dishes, among other options.
App orders
Keeta has built the drone delivery function into its existing app, allowing customers to access autonomous deliveries through the same ordering platform. As part of the relaunch, customers are being offered 50 percent off their first order, along with exclusive gifts.
Junwei Yang, General Manager of Keeta Drone, said Dubai is the company’s primary market for international expansion, with the latest resumption representing progress towards developing a scalable drone delivery network in the region.
The company said collaboration with DCAA, technology operators, government entities and local partners has supported the return of autonomous deliveries. It also highlighted the UAE’s focus on advanced mobility, emerging technologies and innovation as an environment for developing new forms of urban delivery.
Keeta said the live consumer service is intended to demonstrate practical applications for autonomous delivery beyond technology pilots and demonstrations. The company is now preparing to extend the network to more communities across Dubai, with operations continuing from Silicon Central Mall as the initial launch point.
